Job Overview
This role serves as a key bridge between the Legal Team and various business units involved in livestreaming, gaming, online entertainment, and platform operations. The Legal & Regulatory Business Partner must combine legal expertise with strong commercial acumen to support contract structuring, regulatory compliance, government requirements, and risk management across multiple projects. The role requires the ability to interpret laws and policies and translate them into practical, actionable business guidance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Research & Compliance Support
Conduct legal and regulatory research related to livestreaming, gaming, esports, digital entertainment, and online platforms (e.g., content regulations, NTC/DICT rules, local government requirements).
Monitor legal updates across multiple jurisdictions (particularly PH, HK, SG, MY) and provide timely compliance recommendations.
Ensure products, services, and business operations comply with local government and regulatory requirements.
2. Contract Drafting, Review & Negotiation
Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements (e.g., partnership agreements, service agreements, marketing collaborations, platform terms, content licensing, KOL/streamer agreements).
Provide business-oriented legal advice to PM, BD, and Operations teams on contract structures, risks, and negotiation strategies.
Assess the legal feasibility of business models and recommend contract approaches aligned with regulatory requirements.
3. Government & Regulatory Coordination
Assist in preparing submissions, registrations, permits, licenses, and government-related documents.
Provide guidance when coordinating with government agencies (LGU, SEC, DICT, BIR, NTC, etc.).
Support projects in meeting regulatory or policy requirements (e.g., game approvals, livestream content rules).
4. Cross-Functional Legal Support
Work closely with PM, BD, Finance, HR, and Operations to assess risks and recommend compliant business solutions.
Support new projects from 0�1 by conducting legal feasibility studies and helping design compliant operational frameworks.
Establish internal policies, workflows, and compliance guidelines to improve organization-wide risk awareness.
Qualifications
Bachelor�s degree in Law or related field (bar admission is an advantage but not required).
2�5 years of experience in legal, compliance, regulatory, or similar roles.
Familiarity with corporate law, regulatory processes, and government compliance.
Experience or understanding of livestreaming, gaming, esports, or online platform industries preferred.
Ability to interpret legal provisions and convert them into practical business guidance.
Strong analytical, research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in both English and Chinese preferred.
Preferred
Experience in gaming, online entertainment, esports, or livestreaming platforms.
Familiarity with PH/HK/SG/MY regulations on online operations.
Hands-on experience with regulatory filings (SEC, DICT, LGU, BIR, NTC).
Experience drafting platform policies (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines).
